【Sharing Kyoto’s Heritage with the World: Wagasa Workshop with Kyoto University Students】

We were delighted to host international students from Kyoto University’s "KU-STAR" program for a hands-on Wagasa (Japanese umbrella) making experience.

Currently visiting from universities across Australia, these students showed a profound interest in Japanese culture. It was truly moving to see them listening so intently to the 300-year history of Wagasa and the heritage of TSUJIKURA.

"Crafting tradition with your own hands"

Though some were a little nervous at first, their faces soon filled with smiles as they mastered the craft. The moment they completed their umbrellas, the room lit up with joy and amazement—a sight that truly warmed our hearts.

We hope this experience serves as a spark for them to share the "Beauty of Japan" with the world in the future. TSUJIKURA remains committed to sharing the timeless charm of Wagasa with the next generation, across all borders.
